Joan Marie Pawlowski - Hunt

Passed away on November 4, 2024

Joan “Joanie” Marie Pawlowski-Hunt, age 64. Late of Hegewisch, formerly of East Side. Passed away November 4, 2024. Devoted partner of John C. Hunt for 35 years. Cherished mother of Jordan (Dan) Stunkel, Jensen Hunt, and Jillian Hunt. Loving grandmother of Woodrow P. Stunkel, Jezy Rose Hunt-Carroll, Calpurnia, Panther, and the late Tonks. Dearest sister of Kenny, Debbie, and Mary Jo. Beloved friend of many.

Joanie was a retired registered nurse. She cared deeply for those around her and found fulfillment in her cherished cats, particularly Ewok and Mr. Thundercleese. She took care of many neighborhood cats that often found their way to her front yard in search of some extra TLC. Joanie was an avid volleyball and 16 in. softball player for many years of her life, playing on teams from Dago Park and Cal Park. She took pride in her time spent playing ball for O’Hara’s women’s softball team and currently would spend her Monday nights playing volleyball with her daughter’s team, the Down Bads.

Through all things, her love for her husband John was unmatched. Together, they enjoyed watching movies, dancing in the kitchen, and singing their favorite songs. She had an unparalleled (aka unhealthy) infatuation with ice cream, and to say she loved to tell stories would be an extreme understatement! Though she is gone physically, she will be remembered as the friend who could light up any room and save any party. We will remember her kind smile and infectious laugh always.
