Passed away on October 31, 2024


William R. “Bill” Witkowski, age 78.  Late of Demotte, Indiana formerly Dyer, Indiana.  Passed away October 31, 2024.  Beloved husband of Mary (nee Porzuczek) for over 58 years.  Loving father Tina (David) Smat and Amy Witkowski.  Cherished grandfather of Alex, Leo, Nicholas, Faith, Hope, and Charity.  Dearest brother of Carol and Janice.  Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents Leo and Florence and siblings: Leonard, Donald “Butchie”, and Nancy.  Veteran of the United States Army – Vietnam War and member of the American Legion Post #330. Bill was a longtime HVAC technician.  He was an avid model train collector and enjoyed camping, was a great story teller and loved spending time with his grandchildren and dogs. 

Visitation Monday, November 4, 2024 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm.  Visitation and Funeral Services Tuesday, November 5, 2024 from 10:00 am until time of Military Honors and Funeral Service at 11:00 am at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel 11300 W. 97th Ln. "My deepest sympathy to the Witkowski family. Went to High School at SFDS Class of 1964 with Bill. I was glad to see him at are 50th class reunion. Went to a few luncheon with Bill before the reunion. He was a great guy classmate and friend. You will be missed. Hard to believe it’s been 60 years since graduation and another true friend of mine passes. God be with you Bill and your family."
