Mary Ann Woszczynski, “Moe”, (nee Bobiak), age 85, late of the East Side passed away on October 11, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Woszczynski for 57 years. Loving mother of Jeff Woszczynski, John (Amy) Woszczynski and Diana (Blaine) Cobat. Devoted grandmother of Hayley (Randy) Bence, Adam (Karlie) Woszczynski, Nolan (Lauren) Woszczynski, Jason Woszczynski, Andrew Woszczynski, Michael Wyszynski, twins Jonathan Pendleton and Brendan Pendleton. Cherished great-grandmother of Wyatt and Lucille. Dear daughter of the late Nick Bobiak and late Anna Bobiak. Dearest sister of Mike (Marlene) Bobiak and late Frank Bobiak. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Mary Ann was born in Benton, IL on October 24, 1938, moving to Chicago after graduating high school. She took a job as a secretary downtown at the Prudential Building, at that time, the tallest building in the city. She was a stay-at-home mother while her children were growing up, doing typing jobs at home for the University of Chicago while being very involved with the PTA. Once the kids were old enough, she returned to the workforce, mainly as secretary to the president of the Chicago Convention and Visitors Bureau at McCormick Place. After she retired, she took up Tae Kwon Do. She loved travelling to visit friends and relatives, and she and Tom liked to go on casino outings to Las Vegas, Mississippi, Illinois and Indiana. Mary Ann loved all animals, especially dogs, even buying a 1983 White Sox playoffs shirt for her and dad’s beloved dog, Packie. She loved sports, getting to see and experience championships in all of the professional sports of Chicago, especially the Bears, Bulls, White Sox, Blackhawks, and even the Cubs (despite living on the “south side”). With that in mind, we invite friends and family to wear your favorite sports gear to the memorial visitation. Memorial visitation Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) until 5:00 p.m. at the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago, IL 60617.
