Gary Martin Smith, born December 18th, 1966, passed away on October 25th at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Gary is survived by his daughter Donna Smith, son Marty Smith and Daughter-in-law Stephanie (Reato) Smith and his three grandchildren, Marquon Jr., Maddox, and Jackson, who knew him lovingly as “Grampy”. Gary was preceded in death by his Wife, Lisa (Quasebarth) Smith
Gary was raised in and spent majority of his adult life in Cedar Lake, IN. He married Lisa on May 12, 1990. As a loving father alongside Lisa, raised their children - Marty (1990), and Donna (1993) - in Cedar Lake. Gary was passionate about motorsports, music, and spending time outside, passions he passed down to his kids as well. Gary worked in many different Jobs throughout his life and always enjoyed an opportunity to share his knowledge. Often, affectionately using the phase “Jack of all trades, master of none”. Gary was a beloved and caring friend to many, who always enjoyed his banter and desire for having fun. Gary wanted everyone to have a good time in life and would be remised if we didn’t in his memory. Gary will live on is his charismatic quotes and comical stories told by all who had the pleasure to know him.
A Celebration of Gary’s life will be held privately by his son and daughter. He will be laid to rest with his wife Lisa at Holy Name Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Elmwood Chapel and Crematory – Cedar Lake. For more information 219-374-9300
