Sylvia T. Mitchell

Passed away on October 10, 2024

It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my Mom Sylvia Mitchell age 88.

Mom grew up in the area of South Chicago, the youngest of 7 children (surname Cacich). She was an active member at Sacred Heart Croatian Church. She worked for many years as a registered nurse.  Later in life the family moved to Lowell Indiana.  She was a member of many community clubs and liked shopping, visiting, casino trips, traveling and entertaining.  She enjoyed staying in touch with many of her 17 nieces and nephews, who live coast to coast.  Both her husband Frank and son Todd predeceased her.

Her daughter Suzanne and her sister Kay Placzkowski survives her. She was always smiling with her great personality. She will be dearly missed by all. "I am so very sorry about your mom’s passing. We have been friends for years, lost contact for decades, but started talking regularly on the phone for the last 5 years. Even though we never saw each other we shared our lives by phone. I will miss her dearly. May you be blessed with peace, comfort, strength, and beautiful memories that will fill your heart. "
