Hector Paredes, age 82, of Crown Point, Indiana passed away on July 6, 2024. Beloved husband of Maria Albertine "Betty" Paredes (Gassend). Loving father of Yvette (John) Drzal, Adriana (Kenneth) Schaufelberger, Gabriella (Charles) Churchill, and Paulette (Amie) Origel. Devoted grandfather of Ashley (Brian) Toland, Yvette (Joseph) Ciucki, Alexandra, Kenneth and Eric Schaufelberger, Paul Centanni, and William Churchill. Cherished great grandfather of Killian Toland and Violet Ciucki. Dear brother to Irma (Charles) Coddington and Sergio Paredes. Hector was proceeded in death by his parents Lorenzo and Amelia Paredes, and siblings Blanca Trevino and Lydia Paredes, and Lorenzo Paredes.

Hector was a long-time employee of Inland Steel. He then retired to pursue his passion...family. He loved spending time with the love of his life, Betty, his daughters and his grandchildren. He was truly devoted to his family by helping with all of his grandchildren. Whether it was a school function, a sporting event, or simply accompanying one of his duaghters on a road trip, Hector was always there. He was a role model, a support line, a loving and caring person and our best friend.

There will be a private visitation for family and close friends on Saturday, July 13th from 10:00am to 1:00 p.m. at Elmwood Funeral Chapel, 11300 West 97th Lane, Saint John, Indiana.
