"Like some more modern friendships nowadays, ours had begun meeting in a fandom chat room online, years ago. He was engaging, a good listener and always knew how to lift your spirits. About a year or so later, we finally met face to face at a convention north of Chicago and a friendship was forged from there. Grant, I only saw Fabian a few more times over the years ~ good years seeing him around, enjoying life to the fullest. Time and distance may have quelled what could be shared, but he always made sure to keep in touch - even wishing me another happy birthday a month ago. For those of us who were lucky and blessed to have known you - your family, Martin, your loved ones and your friends - you are already greatly missed. I will miss your delightful personality, your mischievous sense of humor, your kind heart and gentle soul. Now, from this mortal coil, may joy and happiness surround you, dear Fabian.
