Sharon L. Resendez, (nee Squires), age 80, late of the East Side passed away on May 6, 2024. Beloved wife of Henry for 37 years. Loving Godmother of Julia Cornejo. Dear daughter of late William and late Dorothy Squires. Dearest sister of Jerry (Dana) Squires and late Judy (George) Stanley. Fond sister-in-law of Rich (late Toni) Resendez, Frank (late Louise) Resendez, Art (Deborah) Resendez, late Isabel Valdez, late Anita (late Tony) Alvarez, late Adeline (late Benito) Najera, late Concha Resendez, and Rose (late Joe) Valdez. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Sharon was a member of East Side Pride, C.A.P.S., Washington School PTA and active with the 10th Ward Aldermans Office. A nurturing and warm individual, Sharon spread kindness and love to all she encountered. She loved disco, her Boo Boo kitty, shopping and cooking her signature dishes. Visitation Friday, May 10, 2024, from 2-8 p.m. and Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. at the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago, IL 60617.
