James P. Lublow, "Jim"

Passed away on May 5, 2024

James P. “Jim” Lublow, 52, of Cedar Lake passed away peacefully on Sunday May 5th surrounded by his family. Jim was born in Akron, Ohio on January 24th, 1972. Surviving family members include his loving wife: Jennifer Hartman Lublow, his 3 wonderful boys: Jake (Lauren) Lublow, Justin Lublow and Joshua Lublow, and his beloved dog Star, his proud mother: Paula Lublow, his loving sisters: Lisa (Stewart) Hipes, Carrie (Joseph) Hall, Kelly (John) Burch, Deborah (Patrick) Pagel, Vicki (William) Moore, and he was an uncle to many loved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father James H. Lublow. Jim Lublow and his wife, Jenny, shared a beautiful bond as best friends throughout their entire marriage. They were remarkably alike in everything they did, forming a deep connection. In their free time, they found joy in the simplest of things, like leisurely pontoon rides around the lake and daily walks in the neighborhood. Jim and Jenny dedicated their lives to their boys, always putting their kids’ needs above their own. They found fulfillment in their boy’s happiness, and if their kids were having fun, so were they. For example they spent countless vacations in Orlando, Florida wakeboarding and walking around the parks of Disney with their kids. Jim and Jenny's marriage was a true partnership built on love, friendship, and a shared commitment to their family. Jim Lublow was a devoted father who cherished every moment spent with his boys. He was always there for them, actively participating in their lives and creating unforgettable memories. Whether it was wakeboarding on the weekends, playing golf, coaching sports teams, traveling, or showing them how to be standup gentlemen, Jim made sure to be actively involved in his children's lives. He was not just a father, but also the best mentor / friend a son could ask for, sharing invaluable life lessons. Jim studied communications at Illinois State University and proceeded to work in the financial services industry for 28 years. In his professional career, Jim will be remembered for the profound impacts he has made across many people, his dedicated work ethic, and the lifelong connections he’s made along the way. Jim spent 26 of the 28 years working at Goldman Sachs where he spent time in sales and management. Jim Lublow's legacy of love and mentorship will live on in the hearts of those he touched. Jim was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer on June 1st, 2023. The sheer strength of this man is unforgettable. The past 11 months Jim led everyday with his best foot forward, fighting until the end. Condolences
"My heart is breaking for you Jen & the boys. Fondly remember all the years we lived across the street & watched your loving family & seeing the boys grow. Jim was always there to lend a helping hand for the neighbors. The block has not been the same since you moved & thank goodness we kept in touch with the Christmas cards. We are here for you & will keep you in my daily prayers. Draw your strength from the love of family & friends."

"I remember all the great times we had as a family going out with family outings and him helping out being my soccer coach and all the sports Jenny and Jim got me to try to do many years ago, to keep up with the boys and when I grew tired and started to lack it, and then I joined cross country and track Jim told me how impressed he was with how I picked up back on something I loved so deeply and said seeing me out there was amazing and reconnecting with their family when my father got sick, they all were so supportive and helpful, and now hearing about this makes me think really hard about so much, I was a little kid with a girl named McKenna and I fell through a window well and Jim got me out of there as fast as he could one of the best of the best neighbors to have. Rest easy Mr.Lublow. "

"Dear Jen, Jake, Justin, Joshua and family - We are sending much love and many prayers. Blessed to have you as my parents neighbors and a small world for the reconnection at IU. The energy, light and love that radiates through your home is always evident and admirable. Jim made this world a much better place and will continue to through his legacy in all of you. My parents loved having you as neighbors across the street and we always felt better knowing you were there. You brighten many lives without even knowing it. We hold your family in our hearts and prayers. Love, Trish Biondo-Soltys & Family"

"Justin was my brother, Hunter’s, freshman year college roommate, and has been a great friend since through the Wake Team. Even though I only crossed paths with Jim once at IU freshman move-in, it is clear he must have lived a great life in his raising of such an incredible son(s)! I have prayed, intended masses, and said the rosary for “Justin’s dad” since Hunter shared the news last year, and I want to send now my sincerest sympathies and assurance of continual prayers- for both Jim and Justin and the Lublow family experiencing this unimaginable loss."
