Michael Gonzalez, age 82. Late of Dolton, Illinois formerly of Alsip and Chicago. Passed away April 4, 2024. Beloved husband of the late Brenda Boomsma-Gonzalez and former wife Gloria Gonzalez. Loving father of Elizabeth “Trixie” Gonzalez, late Lee Roegner, Michael Phillip Gonzalez, Timothy Boomsma, late Brian Gilbert Gonzalez, Ashley Boomsma (Kirk Spieth). Cherished grandfather of Addison Lee Spieth, late Cadence Joy Popiela, and Lyric Boomsma. Dear brother to Julia, Lupe, Lola/Delores, Vera, Johnny, Bea, Chuck, Aurora, Linda, Carol, Chris/Christina, Steve, Tim, and Monica. Michael is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was in the 8th Artillery of the United States Army, and a retired worker for the US Steel Mill. Michael was known for his jokester spirit and ability to always make people laugh. He loved fishing, enjoyed swimming, and loved the water. Michael was very artistic and excelled at many creative passions over the years.
