In his youth, he traveled between the United States and Mexico for several years as a migrant farm worker. He moved to the United States permanently in 1973 and proceeded to bring his wife and later his children to South Chicago which he called home for 51 years. He was a dedicated hardworking man who never missed a single day of work, while working in manufacturing until he retired at age 62. Because of his sacrifices and hard work, he and his children were able to fulfill the American dream. He dedicated all his free time to his family. He was a faithful lifelong parishioner of Immaculate Conception in South Chicago. Although he called Chicago home for many years, he enjoyed returning to Momax, Zacatecas frequently where he was born, raised, and started his family. On his returns to Mexico, he could be seen smiling, wearing his sombrero, and enjoying the hot sunshine.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, doing word searches, as well as scratch off lottery tickets. His biggest passion in life was eating his favorite foods and sharing his love through those foods with his family members. Some of those foods included Menudo, Chicharrones, Pan dulce, Carne Asada, fruits, sweet corn, as well as many others.
