"Dear Danielle & Nicholas,
I was fortunate to know Nicky since we were VERY young. We we grew up in a wonderful Serbian church community in South Chicago which gave us some of the happiest times. Through Sunday School , SOTAYA, tambura group, junior choir, and even high school at Bowen, Nicky was a good friend and fun guy to be around. I will miss his greetings of, "Hi Motts!" accompanied by a hug and kiss on the cheek whenever I came back home and saw him. HIs love for our music and and devotion to keeping it alive will be a one of his lasting legacies.
It just won't be the same without seeing him with that bugarija, singing his heart out and loving every minute of it.
Rest easy my friend. May your memory be a blessing to all who were fortunate to know you.

"Sorry to hear about Nick's passing, I had the privilege of working next to Nick from time to time for over 30 years in the beverage delivery industry as my second job while working for 7up, Canfields, and Pepsi-Cola. He and Georgie I, Joey Peretin and the Brajak brothers were like seeing long lost relatives from another time! How good it was to be there and to be right in front Drina enjoying every single song. "We met Nicky 30 years ago through Milan Opacic and Jack Tomlin when we owned the music shop. I had the honor to play with them at various events. I remember singing with him and the great time we had. Nicky always had a smile on his face and I’m sure that you kids were around when ours were there also. He will certainly be missed and our deepest sympathy goes to the family."
