Frank S. Ojeda Sr. “Veyo”, age 90. Late of the East Side of Chicago, formerly South Chicago. Passed away on March 19, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Leonor “Leafy”(nee Flores). Loving father of Toni (Mike “Rican”) Ojeda-Rodriguez, Joni Ojeda, and Frank Jr. (Jodi) Ojeda. Cherished Grandpa “Beans” to Danielle (Douglas) Merrick, Lenore (Rene) Medellin, Daniel (Jamie) Fernandez, Gretchen Rodriguez, and Frank Ojeda III. Adored Great Grandpa “Veyo” to Lumen, Bodhi, Aubree, Jakob, Lexi, Jake, Luciana and Carmela. Dearest brother of the late Anita (late Joe) Garza, late John (late Connie) Ojeda, Henrietta (Fidel) Martinez, late Jesse (Carmen) Ojeda, and late Robert (Charlotte) Rodriguez. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Silverio Ojeda and Luisa Rodriguez and his loyal dog “Beans”.

Frank retired from the Chicago Park District as a park attendant.

Veyo and Leafy, his loving wife of 69 years, traveled the world together embarking on many exciting adventures, including over 30 cruises. Frank was very proud of the daredevil adventures he experienced in his retirement. A few of them were parasailing in Mexico, cliff diving in Acapulco, swimming in the Cenotes in Cancun and horseback riding on the beach in Spain.

He loved watching his beloved Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears.

Most of all, Frank cherished his family and loved spending time with them

Memorial Visitation Monday, March 25, 2024 from 2-8 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m. at the Elmwood Chapel, 11200 S. Ewing Avenue, Chicago. 773-731-2740. wwwelmwoodchapel.com
