Doris R. Piszro (nee Maylone), age 95. Late of Cedar Lake, IN., formerly of the East Side neighborhood in Chicago, IL. Passed away on February 20, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Piszro. Loving mother of Sharon (Gerald) Stack, late Larry (Kathleen) Piszro, Keith (Kathy) Piszro, and Karen (Sigmund) Kil. Cherished grandmother of Sandra Bale, Colleen Stack, Joseph Piszro, Derrick Piszro, Brent Piszro, Brian Piszro, Scott Piszro, and Danny Piszro. Devoted great-grandmother of Alexandra Stack, Kaylee Piszro, John Bale, Eleanor Piszro, Joshua Piszro, Colton Piszro, and Callie Piszro. Adored great-great grandmother of the late Braxton Eagan, and Myla Eagen. Fond Aunt of many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Preceded in death by her siblings William (Lorraine) Maylone, Marilyn (Raymond) Wachter, and Hazel (Franklin) Mrazek.

Doris was a longtime dedicated member of the American Legion since 1959. Attended the Cedar Lake United Methodist Church when she was able to. She was an avid watcher of The Wheel of Fortune and The Golden Girls. She enjoyed water aerobics for over 50 years. She loved to feed the birds and squirrels and watch them eat. She always said if you cannot say anything nice about someone, do not say anything at all.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services Monday, February 26, 2024 with a visitation from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel & Crematory 9931 Lincoln Plaza Way Cedar Lake, IN. 46303.
