Sylvia Petrungaro (nee Rodriguez), age 50. Late of Hammond, IN., formerly of Weslaco, TX. Passed away unexpectedly on February 7, 2024. Beloved wife of James Petrungaro for 22 years. Loving mom of Ruben Varela Jr., James Petrungaro Jr., and step-daughter  Elizabeth (Brian) Doyle. Cherished grandma of Zoey Doyle. Dearest sister of Maria R. Urguizo, Raquel R.(Eluterio) Hinojos, Eladio Rodriguez, Onesimo(Guadalupe)Rodriguez, Ester Rodriguez, David(Sylvia)Rodriguez, Egla(Guillermo)Juarez, Oralia Rodriguez, and Elizabeth(Jerry)Spivey.  Devoted sister -in- law of Annamarie (James) Maynard and John (Carol) Petrungaro. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents: Juan C. and Maria M. Rodriguez, and brothers: Inez Rodriguez and Juan Rodriguez Jr. Sylvia was an avid member of A.A. Visitation will take place on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago, IL. 60617. Interment Private.
