Passed away on January 19, 2024

Dennis Edwin "B B Eyes" Zavesky, age 77, passed away January 19, 2024. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and a Vietnam Veteran. Dennis is loved and will be missed by many, especially daughters Denise, Sarah (Ralph) and Melissa. His grandsons Kyle and Mason will miss Grandpa and his Sunday morning chocolate donuts. Dennis grew up in Hegewisch with his brothers Charles (Lucy) Zavesky, Ron (Sharyn) Zavesky, and sister Laverne (Bill) Miner.

Dennis served as Commander of American Legion Post 272, where his crabby but kind presence will certainly be missed. 

Visitation Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 2:00 – 8:00 pm.  Funeral Services Friday, January 26, 2024 at 9:00 am from the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago to St. John the Baptist Church, Whiting, IN.  Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am.  Committal Prayers and Military Honors will be held immediately following mass at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery – 20953 W. Hoff Rd. Elwood, IL. at 12:30 pm. "I first got to know BB Eyes when working the midnight shift at Seaway building products.He,Camel and Blacky took me under their wing at work and would have plenty of laughs and beer after work at Kolo Club and Purple Sail.In later years BB Eyes and I would sit at the Legion and recall fondly our Seaway years.I will miss my dear friend.RIP and may God Bless you buddy.Kevin"
