Guy Milton Maurer, age 94, Born to Guy Milton Maurer, Sr. and Katie Maurer on July 5, 1929 in Sipesville, PA., a Hegewisch (Chicago) resident for more than 65 years Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family December 22,2023. Beloved husband of Evelyn Irene (Parsons) for over 66 years. Loving Father of Steven and wife Kathy and Timothy and wife Alicia. Cherished grandfather of Elizabeth, Leah, William, Andrew, and Aaron. Dearest great grandfather of Hayley, Alexandra, Michaleah, Abby, Nathanael, Sadie, Aubrey, and Payton.

Guy honorably served in the US Army, Co C, 110th Infantry Regiment, 28th Division. Although he rarely spoke of it, was proud of his military service, was fiercely independent, rarely asking for help from anyone. He enjoyed spending time with his family, including traveling back to Pennsylvania for his family reunions. He had a big heart and a great sense of humor.

Interment will be at Lincoln Memorial National Cemetery to be held in a private ceremony. Memorial contributions can be made to your favorite veteran's support organization in Guy's name. Arrangements entrusted to Elmwood Funeral Chapel and Crematory.  For more information 219-374-9300
