Passed away on December 7, 2023

Benigna Oliveroz, age 80 of South Chicago passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on December 7, 2023. She was born in a small town in Mexico, Jalisco (El Mesquitillo) to Teofilo De La Cruz and Maria Castillo. She was one of three children, Beto and Rosa, who preceded her in death.  She married Engelberto Oliveroz at a young age and like many at the time, migrated to the USA. After a short stay in Los Angeles, CA, they moved and settled in South Chicago. She devoted her life to caring for all her nine children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The best memories were in her kitchen. No matter what time of day you visited, she made sure you had something to eat. She loved to hear and see the chaos in her kitchen. No words can express how much she will be missed.
