James W. Pickhardt, “Pick”, age 74, late of St. John, IN and formerly of LaPorte, IN passed away on December 2, 2023. Beloved husband of Lynda Pickhardt (nee Ohler) (Sliwa) for 34 years. Loving father of Tamara Pickhardt, Tammy Sliwa and Jimmy Pickhardt. Devoted grandfather of Michael Jerome Mazur and Gabriella Mazur. Dear son of the late James Pickhardt and late Mary Jane Pickhardt. Dearest brother of late Michelle (Larry) Koerner, Nancy (Mike) Boyko and Victoria (Joe) Gawlik. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. James was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. Retired Ironworker of Union Local #1. Self-employed / proprietor of SMBC Net. "I have know Jim for about 10 years, now. He was my company IT go to and he was efficient. Non stop to solve the issues. And, it goes without saying he had a large personality that had me getting into it with him and I appreciated him. During his last weeks and last few days, he made the time to let me know to seek other support and what his final days were to be. He was thinking about us.
