Gerald J. “Jerry” Broadhurst, age 85.  Late of St. John, Indiana formerly of Crete, Illinois.  Passed away November 15, 2023.  Beloved husband of Darlene for 63 years.  Loving father of Michael (late Liza) Broadhurst, Dawn (Kelly Bridgeman) Broadhurst, Candee (Michael Boskovich, fiancé) Walsh, Mary (Joe) Slowinski, Matthew (Susan) Broadhurst, Jennifer (Jim) DeCicco.  Cherished grandfather of 15.  Dear brother of Margaret Sinclair, Tim Broadhurst, Terry (Barbara) Broadhurst, Lawrence “Buddy” (Patty) Broadhurst, Sally Broadhurst, Frank (Kathy) Broadhurst, Rick (Roxanne) Broadhurst, and Dan (Cheryl) Broadhurst.  Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.  Jerry was a veteran of the U.S. Air National Guard.  He was a retired Sales Associate and General Manager for New York Life for over 50 years.  Jerry generously volunteered his time and fundraising efforts to numerous community, church, academic, and charitable organizations, including his alma mater St. Ignatius. Visitation Tuesday, November 21, 2023 2:00 – 8:00 pm with a prayer service and eulogy at 6:00 pm.  Funeral Services Wednesday, November 22, 2023 with prayers at 9:30 am from the Elmwood Funeral Chapel 11300 W. 97th LN. (1/2 block west of US 41/Wicker Ave. at 97th LN.)
