Louis H. Gonzales, age 74, late of Griffith, IN and formerly of South Chicago passed away on October 20, 2023. Beloved husband of Rita (nee Villa) for 40 years. Loving father of Nicole (Henry) Quintana, Louis Onstad and Frank Gonzales. Loving papa of Gabrielle Quintana, Brianna Quintana, Danielle Quintana, Francesca Onstad, Edahi Onstad and Antonella Onstad. Dear son of the late Frank and late Florence Gonzales. Dearest brother of Grace (Paul) Andrzejewski, late Mary Lou Busich, Alberta (Frank) Gomez, Florence Gonzales and late Frank Gonzales. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Louis was a retired employee of the CTA. Memorial visitation Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) until time of Closing Prayers at 3:30 p.m. at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel 11300 West 97th Lane (1/2 block west of U. "I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Louie from 8348 Buffalo. My dad rented from his parents. I still remember him as nice young boy. He always had good sense of humor and wanted to play baseball with us. He was a good friend and will be missed by all. Rest in peace Louie. Richard Perez"

"You were the best Uncle. You were always so kind and funny, and laid back, and I loved being around you. I always remember the stories you would tell about being in Panama and those huge muskrats you would see when you were on patrol, haha. I remember you doing 100 situps at night. I remember when we were at Turkey Run and Frankie kept getting out of the canoe and what you said to him, lol. I will keep your memory alive and I know you are in a better place now, with Tata and Papa, and with Uncle Frank and little Frankie, and Auntie Mary. I love you so much and I'm so sad you are gone."
