Robert Raichle, "Bob"

Passed away on September 15, 2023

Robert “Bob” Raichle, age 81, passed away suddenly on Friday, September 15, 2023 at his home in Saint John, Indiana. Loving husband of Maria E. Raichle, devoted father of Kenneth (Mary), Elizabeth, and Christi,  and grandfather of Deacon. Cherished son-in-law of Victor and Carol Pedraza, dear brother-in-law of Christina (Jordan) Genovese, Victor (Kelly) Pedraza, and Linda (Mike) McCullough. Kind uncle of 3 nieces, Cathy, Lauren, and Natalie, and 2 nephews, Mark and Nick.

Bob was born to Fredrick and Martha Raichle in Niles, IL. He attended Niles High School and graduated in 1960. Bob was later drafted to the Army and served 2 years in the Vietnam War working his way up to Buck Sergeant. He was honorably discharged in 1970. Upon discharge, Bob began his career at Amoco and subsequently attended night school at Northwestern University, earning a Bachelors in Business Administration. He earned a Masters of Business Administration at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK and became the Director of Credit at Amoco. While at Amoco, Bob became the President of the International Energy Credit Association (IECA), and after an early retirement, went on to manage the entire association.

His work with both Amoco and the IECA took him around the world, traveling to many states and countries where he was often accompanied by his wife and family. This helped him achieve his goal of visiting all 50 states, which was always one of his lifetime goals.

In his leisure, Bob enjoyed spending time outdoors with friends and family. He loved to hunt and fish, often catching many trophy fish in Canada and proudly displaying them in his basement bar. He loved working and relaxing in his favorite place, his backyard. Bob had many friends and was genuinely loved by all who knew him.
