Mary Lou Gricus (nee Maslowicz), age 84, of Thornton, IL, formerly of Roseland, passed away peacefully on September 5th, 2023.

She was the beloved wife of the late Louis J. Gricus, Jr.  Lou passed away in 1987 and a big piece of her heart went with him. Devoted Mother of Lynette (Scott) Swets; Loving Grandmother of Emilee Gricus, Caitlyn Machura, Amanda (Ryan) Carney and Nicholas Swets; Dear Sister of Christine Maslowicz; Fond Sister-in-law of Irwin (Beverly) Gricus and Edward (Peggy) Gricus; Kind Aunt of many nieces and nephews. Best Fur Mom to her fluffy companion “Lou Lou”; Dearest friend of many years to Felix and Shirlee Winslow; Precious “Lu-Lu” to Lori Parras. Her infectious laugh and endless selflessness will be missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Maslowicz; parents, Frank & Emily Maslowicz; mother and father-in-law, Louis J. & Elizabeth “Betty” Gricus, Sr.; Many Aunts and Cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 16th, 2023 from 12pm-4pm with a service at 3:00 pm at Northwoods Falls, 8101 Indianapolis Blvd., St. John, IN with Deacon Jim Renwick Officiating.

"I Thank God for Mary Lou. James and I Just moved into our home and we sat on The porch to rest and here came Mary Lou To welcome us to Thornton we moved right Across the street from the greatest woman We talked on the phone for hours. She is greatly missed by all Special Condolences to Lynnette and Her Wonderful Family. Love you always. "
