Helen M. Yuratovac

Helen M. Yuratovac, nee Zelenika, of Lansing, passed away on July 9, 2023, at the age of 81, following a long battle with cancer. Helen was born in 1942 in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, the youngest of three children and the only daughter of Steve and Mary (Saravanja) Zelenika. When she was a young girl, Helen and her family immigrated to the United States, settling in Chicago, where Helen and her family lived next to Sacred Heart Croatian Catholic Church in Croatian Hall (Hrvatski Dom), where her father was the caretaker. Helen was a graduate of Sacred Heart Parish School and Sts. Peter and Paul High School. A proud Croatian, she was longtime president of St. Anthony 948 Lodge of the Croatian Fraternal Union. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Michael Yuratovac; beloved daughter Kim (Dr. Michael) Kipp; her cherished grandchildren: Michael (Tina), Stephen, Joseph, Matthew and Mary Kipp; and her beloved great-granddaughter, Helen Adele Kipp. She is also survived by her treasured brother Walter (Rita) Zelenika; dear sisters-in-law Ann Zelenika and Lorraine Yuratovac and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents and her brother, Steve. Funeral services Tuesday, July 18, 2023, directly at Sacred Heart Croatian Catholic Church, 2864 E. 96th Street where visitation will take place from 9:30 A.M. until time of mass at 10:30 A.M.
