Roger A. Lane, “Sensei Lane”, late of Cedar Lake, IN and formerly of Beecher, IL passed away on June 14, 2023. Beloved husband of Gretchen (nee Gehrke) for 34 years. Loving father Branden Lane and Amber Martire. Special “Papa GiGi” to Kameron, Conner, Keegan, Isabella “Bella”, and Isaac “Ike”. Dear brother of Paula Wilkes, Kenneth Lane, Michael (Pam) Lane, Ginger (Pat) Gannon and Steve (Beverly) Lane. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Dearest son-in-law of Irene and the late Harry Gehrke. Roger was a Service Director for Napleton Honda River Oaks located in Calumet City, IL, member of AKA Karate Association, holding a Seventh Degree Black Belt and a avid Harley Davidson Motorcycle rider.  Visitation Tuesday, June 20, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until time of “Celebration of Life” service at 7:30 p.m. at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel 9931 Lincoln Plaza Way Cedar Lake, IN 46303. "Roger was the coolest guy on our block. Loved life, summer, fireworks, yard work, grilling, and his hot tub. Great last memory was us yelling at him “you’re crazy!” Because he was in the pool sooooo cold since it was only May. He gave his Roger grin and a thumbs w. Thank you Roger….. Sooooo sorry you’re gone, but never forgotten. Gretchen and Brandon and family, so sorry for your loss. "

"I heard the news yesterday and I was heartbroken. Seems like only yesterday that Roger, Larry Saunders, Todd Ferrar, Juan Hernandez and myself we teenagers taking karate together. I was fortunate enough to have met up with Roger and a few other classmates about a decade ago and he was still the same old Roger! Rest In Paradise old friend! "
