Maria Elena Solis, age 82.  Late of South Chicago’s Bush neighborhood.  Passed away March 19, 2023.  Beloved wife of the late Cresencio.  Loving mother of Juan A. Solis and the late Chris A. Solis.  Cherished grandmother of Samantha, James, Angela, and Miles.  Dearest great grandmother of Christian and Lana.  Dear sister of Antonio (Dora) Hernandez and sister in law of Natalia Hernandez and Ralph Medrano.  Maria is preceded in death by her parents Antonio and Victoria and siblings Juan Hernandez and Victoria Medrano. 

Maria was a former parishioner of St. Michael Church.  She was a member of the mothers club and longtime lunch lady at St. Michael School.  She enjoyed ceramics, sewing, baking, and gardening. 

Visitation Sunday, March 26, 2023 1-8 pm.  Funeral Services Monday, March 27, 2023 at 9:15 am from the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.  Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am.  Interment St. Mary Cemetery.  For more information 773-731-2749
