Ivan Rosado, age 99, Late of the East Side, formerly of South Chicago, passed away Monday, September 26, 2022. Beloved husband of the late Matilde (nee Garcia) Rosado. Devoted father of Hiram (Emma) Rosado, Edith (late Efrain) Fornes, Doris Mendoza Rosado, Louis (Martha) Rosado and Carmen (Albert) Salaz. Devoted grandfather to the late Orville Rosado, Jeffery (Araceli) Rosado, Engelbert Rosado, Joselyn (Moses) Rosado, Efrain Fornes Jr., Annie (Tati) (Gilbert) Mendoza, Evelyn (Teddy) Alvarado, Ralph D. Mendoza, Deeana Mendoza, Salvador Mendoza, Tracy (John) Curran, Carla (Lala) (Roberto) Bautista, Alberto (Gerri) Salaz and Andy (Joanie) Salaz. Great-grandfather of 29. Loving great-great-grandfather of 12. Son of the late Andres and late Juanita Rosado. Dearest brother of the late William Rosado, late Ramon Luis (late Blanca) Rosado, late Isidro (late Maria Luisa) Rosado, late Andres (Annie) Rosado, late Clementina (late Delfin) Perez, late Conrada (late Francisco) Garcia Rosado, late Porfiria (late Pedro) Quinones, late Cecelia (late Carlos) Calderon and late Gladys (late Gabriel) Rosado. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. U.S. Army WW II Veteran. Retired employee of the former Inland Steel. He was a devoted Catholic and was instrumental in starting the Charismatic Prayer Groups in many South Chicago Parishes, including St. Michaels, Immaculate Conception, St. Francis, Our Lady of Guadalupe to name a few. He enjoyed watching wrestling with his grandchildren and was well known for his cooking skills, especially dishes from his native Puerto Rico. His generosity extended beyond family and friends. He will be fondly remembered by many. Visitation Friday, September 30, 2022 from 2-9 p.m. Funeral Services Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 10 a.m. at the Elmwood Chapel, 11200 S.
