Right now there are a lot of broken hearts because you’ve touched so many lives in a positive way. Your family ,your friends and neighbors and your CFD family. You’ve left a huge positive imprint on all of our hearts. To Deanne, And the entire family our deepest condolences. And to you Denny, rest easy friend and may God bless you. And thank you for making the world, The neighborhood and the Chicago fire department that much better during your time with all of us."

"I had the privilege of working with Denny. Hands down , the "best" truckman I ever knew. His experience, instincts , skills and demeaner on the fireground were amazing. He taught from real world knowledge. Denny was one of the few people who told "fire stories" that I actually wanted to hear, because they were true. He could have written the book on fire ground truck operations, but he wasn't a writer, he was a "doer". My dad once paid him a compliment when he said, " Denny can wheel that truck around corners perfectly!" ( Denny drove my father on truck 49). I'm going to get Heines chicken for Sunday dinner in remembrance of a great guy . "

Denny was a devoted husband, father, grandfather ,son, brother and friend .For those of us who had the pleasure of knowing him the world will not be the same without him. Denny was a true friend, a mentor and a hero. A hero in every sense of the word. This world could use more people like Denny. A person who would do anything for anyone at the drop of a hat. To my friend may you rest in peace and though I am deeply sad today I hope one day we will meet again. With some butter cream frosted cake a deck of cards and some stories. "
