Gerardo P. Alcantar, age 40, late of Merrillville, IN and formerly of South Chicago passed away on August 7, 2022. Beloved son of Gerardo and Candida Alcantar. Loving father of Alena Matlon, Antonio Alcantar and Mateo Alcantar. Dearest brother of Celeste (Michael) Cuadrado and the late Alonzo Buenrostro. Devoted uncle of Jade, Geraldina, Aliza and Candice. Dear grandson of Aurelia (late Pedro) Buenrostro and Alicia (late Antonio) Alcantar. Also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Gerardo was a carpenter by trade and a very hard skilled worker. Visitation Saturday, August 13, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11:30 a.m. at the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S.
