Passed away on July 8, 2022

Maria Guadalupe “ Lupe” Muñoz-Lopez, 91 of South Chicago passed away on July 8th 2022 surrounded by her husband and children.  She was a long-time member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish where she regularly attended mass and was part of the Guadalupanas group. She selflessly served her church, family and community. She had a passion for gardening. Her flowers were always in season and always blooming.  Guadalupe’s beautiful energy brought joy and light to everyone she met.  She loved to sing, dance and was happiest when surrounded by her children, grand kids and great grand kids. Her beautiful smile was contagious and with the most gentleness of a grandmother’s love, she was able to keep the family bond as strong as anyone can imagine across all the generations that have come to be.  With such a large and beautiful family, the doors to her home were always open to welcome anyone. She always extended her hospitality with as much or little that she had to offer. With her many years of wisdom, Guadalupe taught us many lessons, but the most important was to love one another.  Her kindness was genuine and her was love abundant - it will forever live in our hearts.

Guadalupe was the loving wife of Inocencio Muñoz; beloved mother of late Antonio Muñoz, Maria (late Fidel) Melendez, Clemencia Muñoz, Rosa (Jesus) Garcia, Jesus (Maria) Muñoz, Julia (Juan) Alba, late Lola (Luis) Salazar, Martin (Elizabeth) Muñoz, Nina (Salvador) Mendoza, Elvira (David) Ramirez, Ignacio Muñoz, Juan (Griselda) Muñoz.

She was grandmother to Israel (Melissa) Melendez, Edith ( Gabriel) Manzanares ,Bianca Melendez, Julio Cesar Hernandez, Yanet (Javier) Toscano, Sandra (Miguel Angel) Rodriguez, Brenda (Cesar) Gutierrez, Eduardo (Lori) Garcia, Gabriel (Danielle) Garcia, Alejandro Garcia ,Ana (Salem) Abuelizam, Fabian (Rachel) Garcia, Vanessa (Robert) Thornton, Jonathan (Amanda) Muñoz, Belinda (Matt) Wells , Yesenia (Jose) Muñoz, Fernando (Natalie) Alba, Laura Alba, Raul (Jessica) Alba, Enrique (Daniela) Salazar, Celeste (Peter) Rios, Karina (Doug) Huguenard, Martin Jr. (Kariza) Muñoz, Benjamin Muñoz, Daniel Mendoza, Vivian Mendoza, Evelyn (Arnold) Castillo, Elina (John) Walding, Antonio Ramirez, Emanuel Ramirez, Jacqueline Muñoz, Christian Muñoz, Haley Muñoz.

Guadalupe also leaves behind beautiful greatgrandchildren and will be dearly missed.
