Charles Edward Hesser “Charlie”, age 75, late of St. John, formerly of Riverdale and Roseland, passed away June 11, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.  Beloved husband of Cynthia (nee Kaminski) for 53 years.  Loving father of Erick (Deidre) Hesser, Charles (Helen) Hesser, Katrina Keilman, Troy (Cheryl) Hesser and Bernadette (Joseph) Rhoades.  Devoted grandfather of Shelbie (Linglei), Alexis (Adam), Victoria, Aurora, Cooper, Camden, Tristen, Logan, Raeden, Cainan, Isaac, Taylor, Amber, Luke and Leia.  Cherished great grandfather of Oliver, Chase and Khloe.  Dearest brother of Michael (Diana) Hesser. Dear brother-in-law of Daniel (Diane) Kaminski and Gerald (Patricia) Kaminski.  Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by his parents William and Annabelle Hesser and brother Bill Hesser.  Charlie was a retired truck mechanic and a former Cub Master.  He enjoyed camping, fishing and cooking over an open fire.  Loved cooking at Lake Wild Pancake Breakfast. His greatest joy was driving his grandkids around on the riding lawn mower and golf cart.  Visitation Thursday, 3-9 pm with a wake service at 3pm.  Funeral Service Friday, June 17, 2022 at 9:45 am from the Elmwood Funeral Chapel 11300 W. 97^th LN. (1/2 block west of US 41/Wicker Ave. at 97^th LN.) St. John to St. Joseph Church, Dyer IN for a mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am Rev Ted Mauch, officiating.  Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude’s Childrens’ Hospital in Charlie’s name would be appreciated. For more information 219-365-3474 or www.elmwoodchapel.com
