Martha T. Nowakowski, age 90.  Late of Calumet City, Illinois.  Passed away May 14, 2022.  Beloved daughter of the late John and late Valeria Nowakowski.  Loving sister of Alphonse (late Suzanne) Nowakowski and Sr. Marcella Nowakowski SSJ-TOSF.  Fond aunt and great aunt of many nieces and nephews.  Martha is preceded in death by her siblings: Clement (Virginia), Eric (Florence), Sylvester (Virginia), Anthony, Joseph, Clementine, Dolores (Thomas), Bernard (Clementine), Cyril (Dolores), and Marcel (Guadalupe).  Martha was a longtime dedicated parishioner at Immaculate Conception Church in Chicago, IL. and St. Victor Church in Calumet City, IL.  Funeral Services Saturday, May 21, 2022 DIRECTLY at Jesus, Shepherd of Souls Church (Formerly St. Andrew Church) 768 Lincoln St. Calumet City, IL 60409 where visitation will take place from 9:00 am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Sisters of St. Joseph - TOSF preferred.  Arrangements entrusted to Elmwood Chapel, Chicago.  For more information 773-731-2749

"My sincere condolences to Sister Marcella and all of Martha's friends and family. I have known Martha for only a couple of years and I always found her an absolute delight to be around — full of life and vigor, quick-witted, generous, and kind. She had so many stories of the Old Days and, her jokes — some sweet, some salty, always had everyone in stitches! She will be greatly missed. May the fond memories of basking in the bigger-than-life glow of this wonderful lady comfort us all in the months and years ahead."
