Patrica L."Mimi"  Gething (nee Blumka), age 81. Late of Dyer, IN. passed away on May 8, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Richard Gething. Loving mother of Cindy Kukla, Tammy (Bill) Bonnema, Robert (late Penny) Gething,  Debbie (Rick) Mauck. Devoted grandmother of 13. Cherished great-grandmother. Patricia was a former teachers aide at St. Thomas More Grammar School and employed at Nabet. Visitation Sunday, May15, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel 11300 w. 97th Ln. St. John, IN. (1/2 block west of U.S. 41/ Wicker Ave at 97th Ln). Funeral Services Monday, May 16, 2022 Directly at St. Thomas More Church, Munster, IN. where a visitation will take place from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. Rev. Michael Yadron officiating. Entombment Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

"From high school carpools, track meets to random bits of advice, Mimi was such a trusted light in my life. She was so helpful, kind and understanding. She embraced others and she was just hilarious. Her wonderful humor, friendly nature and amazing personality will be missed. I’m keeping her family lifted in prayer and good energy as they mourn. Simply put, Mimi was the type of woman you never forget and I’m very lucky to have met her. She and the Kukla family helped my family and I so much over the years. "My sincere condolences to the family. I had the pleasure of working with Ms. Patty at STM. Made me feel welcome when I started to work there and she make the best desserts to share with co-workers. She loved talking about her grand kids and everything they were doing. Patty you hold a special place in my heart. I always remember your birthday St. Patrick’s Day. I remember you telling me that you were named Patricia because you were born on St. Patrick’s Day. Patty you will be missed and now you are in heaven with your Ricky.
