John Garcia, age 90. Late of Flossmoor, IL., formerly of South Chicago, IL. Passed away on January 19, 2022. Beloved father of MaryAnn Garcia, Mona Kennedy, Alice (Leo) Herard, John A. Garcia, and Michelle Garcia. Cherished Grandpa of Thomas J. Kennedy, Anthony W. Garcia, Eric D. Garcia, and Jazmyn A. Garcia. Adored great- grandfather of Alexandra, and Miya, and great-great grandfather of Penelope. Survived by sister Sara (late Robert) Martinez. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Juan and Sara Garcia, former wife: Dolores Garcia, son: Anthony Garcia, and siblings: Genaro, Pascual, and Trinidad “Sophia”. John will be remembered for his passion for golf, he was past president of the Young Men’s Holy Name Society of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and was very active with Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and School. Visitation Tuesday, January 25, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave., Chicago, IL. 9:15 a.m. prayers. Mass of Christian Burial Our Lady of Guadalupe Church 10:00 a.m. Entombment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery and Mausoleum.  If you are attending visitation and Funeral Services Face Mask are required. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in John’s name preferred.
