Condolences
"My heart breaks writing this. I was Jake's co-worker and supervisor at SAIC. He was also my friend. Knowing how this sudden loss has affected me, I cannot imagine how it has affected his family and friends. I would like to share my sincere condolences with your loss. If there is anything I can do to help, please do not hesitate to contact me."

"You have my heart felt sympathy on the loss of your son, and my colleague, Jake. I've known him since he did his internship with Scitor while he was at Purdue and then we hired him. He was a joy to be around. So bright and competent. It was a pleasure watching him grow into his role as test lead and run the testing events. He was a man of many talents, i.e., beer maker, chef, a talented dancer, skier, the list goes on. He will be missed. "

"I found out the news about Jake a week later than everyone else, so needless to say I'm still processing everything. It's a pretty terrible feeling knowing he won't be walking into my office with some crude humor or knowing that I won't have any more funny chats with him over Slack. Jake was a pleasure to work with and was one of the few people I could really relate to. It's a complete shame he went so young given his potential and intelligence, he was truly a brilliant guy. Hope you're at peace wherever you are, my friend."

"Jake, I enjoyed getting to know you over the years at kickball. This all has been tough to process for me, but I want you to know you had a big impact on my life. There were occasions where I was going through really tough times and some of our conversations meant more to me than you’ll ever know and you always helped me stay level headed. I’ll miss your sense of humor, kindness, and one liners. My sincerest condolences to your family. Hope you’re riding your motorcycle in the sky, cheers bro!"

"I was introduced to Jake professionally as he was getting his graduate degree, and had the privilege to work with him for a few years. Although he consistently maintained a high level of integrity and pride in his work I always knew I was just one comment away from getting into riffing on a joke line or making some sort of comedy happen. He invariably took the bait and changed the moments of the mundane into something meaningful. His sense of humor, creativity, and drive to experience life truly made the time I spent with him enjoyable. I am thankful I had a couple hours of conversation with him last month to catch up. An unimaginable and tragic loss words cannot describe. My heartfelt condolences to his friends and family."

"Shock and sadness; I can't find any other way to express my reaction to this awful news. Jake was such a kind and considerate person who I knew only briefly but left a lasting impression. I hope that Jake's family can find some comfort in knowing their son and brother touched many lives in such a positive way."

"I was so sad to learn about the passing of Jake. He and I worked in SAIC for a short period of time until I left for another opportunity. It was such a pleasure to work with him. He was always so helpful and responsive. His kindness encouraged me to ask lots of questions including some silly ones. I will miss him dearly and want to send my deepest condolences to his family. "

"No amount of time will bring the right words. It feels impossible to articulate the extent of this loss, both for myself and for all who were lucky enough to know and love Jake. Jake was such a brilliant and beautiful person with a heart of gold and an unmatched sense of humor and youthfulness. He was so intelligent, but more importantly, he was kind and caring, always there for his friends and family, and so incredibly witty and funny. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him. He will remain forever famous in my heart. Rest easy now, Jake. My sincere condolences to Dean, Robin, Josh, Joel, and all of his extended family and friends. You will remain in my heart and prayers forever. "
