Passed away on October 24, 2021


Giovanni Leon, age 7. Late of the East Side passed away on October 24, 2021. Beloved son of Savino Leon and Cristina Calvillo. Loving brother of Benjamin Leon and sister Emilia Leon. Adored grandson of Alfredo and Rosa Calvillo and Rosa Lorena Ramos and the late Jesus Leon. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Gio was a student at Jane Addams Elementary School. He was a sweet, caring free spirited child who loved Takis, his video games but most of all, playing soccer. On the field Gio wore #29 proudly. Gio will forever be missed!

Words from his brother Benji: “You and me will stay together forever, you made us happy, you brought us joy, you were a special kid to me and everyone else. Man, I miss you to the moon and back. We can always play FIFA and you can always be PSG and I’ll buy you stuff every day. We ALL LOVE YOU GIO! GIO GIO GIOVANNI!!”

Visitation Thursday, October 28, 2018 3-8 pm.  Funeral Services Friday, October 29, 2021 at 11:00 am from the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.  Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 noon.  Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.  For more information 773-731-2749
