Cathryn A. Howe (nee Ricciardi), age 64. Late of Dyer, IN. Passed away on September 16, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of William “Bill” Howe for 17 years. Loving mother “Ma” of Kristan Hanas-Howe and William Joe Howe. Survived by siblings: Ric (Joan) Ricciardi, Sue Ricciardi, Frank (Lynn) Ricciardi, and Tina (Jim) Safin. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews, and also cousin of many. Cherished godmother of Marci Ricciardi and Kristena Safin. Preceded in death by her parents Charles and Kathryn Ricciardi. Cathryn was a manager for Kennan Liquor’s, Dyer, IN. She was a member of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club INXI, V.F.W. Auxiliary Post # 6448-Dyer, IN., and an auxiliary member of the American Legion Post #66 - Griffith, IN. She will be remembered for her enjoyment of playing pull tabs and slot machines.  Cathryn will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Visitation Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 2:00 p.m.-9:00 P.M. with a Red Night Walk thru at 7:00 pm as well as American Legion and VFW services (times are pending). Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at the Elmwood Chapel 11300 W. 97th Lane (1/2 block west of US 41/Wicker Ave.) St. John, IN. with a Service at 10:30 a.m. Very Reverend John P. Kowalczyk Jr., Chaplin Cedar Lake Fire Dept. officiating. Interment Memory Lane Cemetery. The family requests if you are attending the visitation or funeral service please dress casually. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Cathryn’s name to Hospice of Calumet Area or to Hoosier Burn Camp. www.hoosierburncamp.org.
