Jesus R. Mata, age 67. Late of the East Side. Passed away on July 13, 2021. Beloved Husband of Veronica Gomez for 5 years. Loving father of Adriana (Jason) Kieffer, and step-father of Antonio Gomez. Cherished grandfather of Lucille Kieffer. Survived by his siblings: Jose Socorro, Marciana, Fidel, Monica, Antonio, Armando, Alfoso, Maria de Carmen, Ramon, and Abigail. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Medardo and Andrea, siblings: Socorro, Maria Elena, and Josefa. Retired from Rush Hospital in the maintenance department. Jesus had a passion for horses, gardening, music, his favorite artist was Vicente Fernandez. He always loved taking tequila shots and was an avid Chicago White Sox fan.
