Rudy Colmenares, Born-November 05, 1961, Deceased-April 14, 2020. Son of the late Rafael Colmenares and Eugenia (Nee Campos) Colmenares. Brother of Ralph (Leticia) Colmenares, John "Johnny" Colmenares, Alice (late David) Rodriguez, late Eloise (Eusebio) Razo, Maria (Caspar) Rodriguez, Grace Colmenares, Jorge Colmenares, and late Susan Colmenares. Fond Ex-Husband of Shawntay Green. Loving stepfather of Casha Benton, who always brought him joy. Godfather to Yvette Rodriguez. Favorite uncle to many nieces and nephews. Friend to all. Rudy used his time, talents, and energy to work in construction. He learned his trade quickly from his grandfather, family, and the Gaona’s, he only needed to see things done once. He was a man who would always... could always find a better, smarter and easier way to do things. Rudy was a “Good Old Soul”: Old fashioned, a little macho, and a lot of stubborn. Even still, Rudy was always willing to lend a hand to his family and friends. A man whose presence and personality belied his physical stature. He was becoming a green thumb farmer in the past couple years, growing ever larger vegetables in his garden. Rudy would often attend White Sox games and was the White Sox’s biggest fan, he was a Chicago Sports Fan Fanatic, except for the Cubs, never the Cubs. Go-Go WHITE SOX. Memorial visitation Saturday, June 5, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. until time of prayers at 11:15 a.m. at the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago, IL 60617 to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
