On 12 April 2021, Jessie Sandoval, (nee Vega), age 87, passed away. Jessie was the loving wife of Pedro C. Sandoval for 71 beautiful years. Jessie was the loving mother of Mary Sandoval, Martha Garcia, David (Alicia) Sandoval, Peter (Martha) Sandoval, Louise Ret. CPD (William Jr. Ret. CPD) Galvan, Ray Sandoval and Frances Sanchez. Jessie was the cherished grandmother of 14 grandchildren. She was treasured by her 24 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchildren. Jessie was preceded in death by her father Arcadio Vega and by her mother Frances Zapata. She was the loving sister of Art (Jene) Vega and the loving sister of the late Joseph Michael (Vicki) Arrequin. Jessie was born and raised in the South Chicago area of the city and along with her husband Pedro, also raised their children there. Jessie and Pedro later moved to Burnham, Illinois where they enjoyed their well deserved retirement years. Jessie retired from a career in the health field after 35 years. Jessie worked as a skilled and dedicated electrocardiograph and echocardiograph technician. She worked at the formerly known Illinois Central Railroad Hospital and later known as Hyde Park Hospital. Jessie retired from the hospital when it was known as Doctor’s Hospital. Jessie was well respected by all of her co-workers and she treated her patients with the utmost respect. Jessie was truly cherished by her entire family and by her friends. She will forever be remembered and loved. Heaven has welcomed another Angel.
