Raymond G. “Ray” Laurie, age 87.  Late of Cedar Lake, Indiana formerly of Chicago Heights, Illinois.  Passed away March 15, 2021.  Beloved husband of Carol (nee Carr) for 38 years. Loving father of Debra (late Bob) Surman, Michael Laurie, and John (Rosey) Laurie.  Cherished grandfather of Dion (Sara Roberts) Laurie and Madeline (Brandon) Soerens.  Dearest great grandfather of Damon, Hayley, and Clarissa Soerens.  Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by parents Carl and Elizabeth Laurie and brother Carl (Betty) Laurie.  Veteran of the U.S. Army.  Ray was a retired employee of AT&T, formerly Illinois Bell.  He was an avid Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears fan.  Due to the current pandemic, funeral services for Ray will be held privately for the family.  Arrangements entrusted to Elmwood Funeral Chapel and Crematory – Cedar Lake.  For more information 219-374-9300.
