Joseph J. Bufanio, lifelong Chicago resident from the East Side, died peacefully on February 17. 2021. Joseph joins his beloved wife Loretta M. Bufanio, loving mother Barbara Bufanio, father Rudolph V. Bufanio, and brother Angelo J. Bufanio in our Lord’s Heavenly Kingdom. Those left here on earth to cherish Joseph’s memory are his beloved Children daughter Tabitha (Jose) Bufanio-Saldana and son Kevin Bufanio. His beautiful Grandchildren Hayden Bohacik, Gia Bufanio, Jayce Saldana, and Leila Saldana. Dear Brother to Rudy (Dolores) Bufanio. Beloved Son-in-law to the late Shirley Gratt. Fond brother-in-law to Veronica (Daniel) Cohen and Robert Gratt. His loving nieces Jennifer Porter and Michelle (James) Schuler and Nephew late Christopher Bufanio. Great nieces Bryleigh, Bristol, and Brennah Porter and Carsyn and Cassidy Schuler. Many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends. Joseph was a United States Navy Veteran. Served honorably as an Organizational Maintenance Technician for the USS Saratoga CV-60. Active duty February 1977 until August 1981. Served on Reserve duty July 1981 until February 1983. He Received a Sea Service Ribbon with two stars in August 1980. Joseph was employed for Mittera / Fuse Inc. ( Rider Dickerson) for 30+ years as a shipping and receiving manager. Joseph leaves behind his precious dog Spanky who was always by his side. Joe loved to work on cars and spend quality time with his family. The memories that we have of our beloved Joseph will always be etched deeply within our hearts. Visitation Friday 2-9pm.
