Anita B Bodley

Passed away on February 16, 2021

Anita Blanche Bodley, was called to her eternal rest on Tuesday, February 16.

Anita was born and raised in northwest Indiana by her parents, Robert and Jane (Reardon) Bodley. She was a devoted friend, sister, and aunt – much loved by all who knew her.

Anita was a devout Catholic and a proud Boilermaker; celebrating all things Purdue. After her graduation from Purdue, she spent her professional career working in various aspects of engineering for Siemens in Barrington, IL.

Anita enjoyed Chicago sports and was an avid fan of the Bears and Blackhawks.

Anita is survived by her longtime friend and companion, “A” Utaya Tulyayon, her siblings Robert (and Linda) Bodley of Schererville, IN, Elizabeth and (and Steven) Duket of West Lafayette, IN, Edwin Bodley of St. John, IN, Timothy (and Pamela) Bodley of Stevensville, MI and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Anita had been in declining health for the last several years and passed peacefully in her sleep.

Anita was that aunt that every child wishes for. She knew each one well and made it her priority to single them out as individuals-leaving no doubt that she treasured each one. She will be terribly missed by each of them.

For those same reasons, Anita will be sadly missed by her family members and her many friends.

Visitation Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 9:00am until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am DIRECTLY AT St. John the Evangelist Church, 10701 Olcott Ave., St. John.  Cemetery private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to one of two of Anita’s favorite causes.

Firstly, any food bank or food pantry program in your vicinity would warm her heart. She truly valued the power of charity and giving to others. The recent increase in need nationwide was something she cared about deeply.

Secondly, WINGS Domestic Violence Shelter in Palatine, IL, is a program that Anita supported over the years. There is always a need for monetary donations to help people get back on their feet.
