"To the Lupe Castro Family’s - Nieces, Nephews, Spouses & Grandchildren of my Dear Sister, Lupe (Wopie) Castro. I extend my sad hearts condolences on the death of your wonderful, loving Mother! She had a deep faith, was a loving mother to her family & a good sense of humor! She honored our Blessed Mother Mary with her weekly rosary’s in her home where others joined her to pray the rosary, and an annual public rosary outside the OLG Church on Brandon St. in the month of May. A statue of blessed Mother Mary was carried on a small platform with handles by four men.Decorated beautifully "

"Wopie was one of a kind. She formed the outdoor Rosary gatherings, held Oct and May, of which many of us looked forward to attending. There was such a reverence that Wopie showed, that to me she radiated with holiness and greeted everyone with a lovely smile. I always felt Our Blessed Lady was with her and I know Our Lady greeted her with open arms and a tender embrace. She definetly made an impact on me and to many others. She truly was a saintly women. I hope I can emulate a little of what I learned from Wopie and thats to get closer to 0ur Lady and Our Dear Lord. Wopie, I sincerely will miss you and I ask that you help me with saying the Rosary more often. Another Brandon kid and onetime neighbor, Chela Ruiz"

"Words can’t come close to the Love our family has & always will have you & your family. You brought the rosary into our little family and showed us how powerful prayers are & that the Blessed Mother will never leave us especially in times of trouble. The first thing your God daughter does in times of need is pray and you taught us all to do that. I KNOW you prayed so much when my Joe got so sick these past few months....I thank you with everything I am for you & your prayers! Im being selfish but I would give anything to hear your your laugh, see your smile or get one of you hugs. "

"I am very lucky to have grown up knowing Lupe. I remember going to the rosary group as a little girl; sitting by my mom’s side on the floor. She showed me how to pray in times of need and to remember that God and the Virgin are always there watching over me. Lupe got to see me grow up from a little girl to a beautiful woman. I remember the day I asked her to be my godmother. She was so overjoyed. “I’m gonna be a godmother!” were her words. And when I was going through tough times I knew her family and her were praying that everything will be ok. I know it’s selfish, but I would want her here so she can watch me grow up, find love, get married, and start a family of my own. But I know she’s no longer suffering and that heaven gained another beautiful angel. She’ll be watching over us all. And I know when I do finally walk down the aisle, she’ll be holding the back of my dress like she promised me. Love you always and will miss you dearly. ❤️❤️"

"I lift up my eyes to the hills; Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, The Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip; He who watches over you will not slumber; Indeed, He who watches over Israel Will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you. The Lord is your shade at your right hand; The sun will not harm you by day, Nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm. He will watch over your life; The Lord will watch over your coming and going Both now and forever more. Psalm 121"

"Auntie - You and your family are so important to me, and my family. As children, we grew up in your home. Enjoyed good times and bad, and watched each other live, and grow. As an adult your spoken and unspoken words touched me deeply. I will never forget, and I am forever grateful Your smile, Your touch, Your gentleness, Your Devotion and Your ability to make a dark space bright. I am wise even from within the womb of my mother. I am the woman of the winds, of the water, of the paths, because I am known in heaven, because I am a healer.” – María Sabina Magdalena García "
