Lucy Alvarez

Passed away on February 7, 2021

Lucy Alvarez, age 69.  Late of South Chicago.  Passed away February 7, 2021.  Beloved wife of Juan for 50 years.  Loving mother of Lupe (Felipe) Jimenez, Juan (Marcy) Alvarez Jr., Alex (Stacy) Alvarez, Karla (Enrique) Mendoza, Rosy (Octavio) Montes - Rodriguez, and Miri (Chris) Garcia.  Cherished grandmother of Clarissa, Alicia, Cecilia, Lance, Alexys, Brooklyn, Loghan, Elena, Isaac, and Flor.  Dearest sister of Angela (Bruce) Lambert, Cruz (Lisa) Rodriguez Jr., Ruben (Susan) Rodriguez, Bobby Rodriguez, Frank Rodriguez, and the late Larry Rodriguez.  Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her parents Cruz and Catalina Rodriguez. Lucy was a one of a kind woman and will always be remembered for her kind spirit, tremendous heart, great cooking and an even better baker. There wasn’t a person who came to visit that didn’t leave with a full belly and a smile on their face. For many years, Lucy had her cake business creating beautifully delicious wedding and birthday cakes; at some point in your life, you probably enjoyed one of her fabulous cake creations she made for a function. Lucy had a great talent and appreciation for baking and crafts, but she had a greater love for her husband of 50 wonderful years, her kids, grandkids, friends and family. Her love was immeasurable and overflowed to everyone she met, knew and cherished.
