Celia Heredia, born in El Paso, Texas on September 7th, 1925, passed away January 21, 2021.  Beloved daughter of the late Antonio Boyar and the late Petra Esquivel Gandara.  Beloved sister of the late Alfredo Boyar Sr.  Devoted wife of 48years to the late Juan P. Heredia and loving companion to the late Rudolph S. Rodriguez Sr.  Loving mother to Estella Bednarczyk, Yolanda (Ruben J. Garcia) Sandoval, John (Maria Nelva) Heredia, Graciella (late Peter) Gaona, Sylvia Heredia Lindsey and Patricia (Mariano) Galvez.  Stepmother to Juan Heredia of Bakersfield, CA, Rudolph S. (late Patricia) Rodriguez Jr., Roseann (Oscar) Chico and Susan (Jose) Rodriguez.  Cherished grandmother to Anita (Martin Jr.) Lally, Lawrence (Laura) Sandoval, John E. (Susie) Samora III, Michael A. Samora, Raphael "Ray" Sandoval Jr., Kimberly (Tom) Castellanos, Debbie Diane (Ray) Cortez, Gina (Ramon) Rosas, Jennifer (Vincent) Gomez, Christina (Alex) Diaz, Lynn Gaona, Melissa Gaona, Tony (Diana) Paz, Richard (Maricela) Paz, Sally A. (Manuel) Villarreal, Phillip (Becky) Godinez, Robert Galvez and Adriana (Michael) Rojas.  Loving great grandma to 38 and great great grandmother to 8.  Celia was a retired employee of South Chicago Hospital after 37 years dedicated years of service and a former active member of the South Chicago YMCA Seniors.  She enjoyed a good laugh, singing, dancing and traveling.  Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, state and local official guidelines will be in effect.  Masks and social distancing are required.  Visitation Thursday 2-9pm.  Funeral services Friday, January 29, 2021  9:15am prayers from Elmwood Chapel, 11200 S. Ewing Ave., Chicago to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.  Mass 10am.  Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.  773-731-2749 www.elmwoodchapel.com
