George Alcala, “Little George”, age 63, late of the East Side, passed away on November 29, 2020. Beloved husband of Lucinda (nee Vasquez) for 32 years. Loving father of Christina Alcala, April (Tristan) Santiago and Jesse J. Alcala. Devoted grandfather of Lissette Diaz (Zachary) Garay, Mia and Matthew Santiago. Cherished great-grandfather of Noel and Zavier Garay. Dear son of the late Jose Luis Arce Alcala and late Carmen Mora Alcala. Dearest brother of Louie, John, Jesse Alcala, Richard (Elia) Alcala, Robert (Isabel) Alcala, Carmen (Juan) Perez, Maria (Jorge) Barrueta, Refugio “Cuco” Alcala, Lupe Alcala and the late Christina Esperanza Alcala. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. George was a hard worker dedicated to helping run his family store, Alcala’s,  founded by his father in 1972. George was a jack-of-all-trades. He was a Buyer, Tailor, Cashier and Boot Specialist. However, the job he loved most was Salesman. George treated every customer with high regard and loved what he did. He made many friends throughout his years because of his generosity and kind heart. George was a humble loving man who enjoyed playing pool, watched sporting events and playing cards with his family. George made an impact in so many lives and will be deeply missed by everybody.  Visitation Friday 3-9 p.m. Funeral Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 9:15 a.m. from the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago, IL to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Mary Cemetery. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the visitation will be limited to only 10 people at any given time.  All visitors entering the funeral home are required to wear a face covering.  Due to the number of people who would like to pay their respects, we ask that you make your visit a brief one in order to allow all who would like to attend a chance to do so.  The family appreciates your sincere cooperation during these very challanging and difficult times.  For more information 773-731-2749. www.elmwoodchapel.com.
