Jose A. Avila, “Andres”, age 96, late of South Chicago, passed away October 16, 2020. Beloved husband of Juanita S. Avila for 67 years. Loving father of Francisco Luis (Maria) Avila, Onesimo (Neida) Avila, late Miguel Angel Avila, Jorge Luis Avila, Imelda (Rafael) Alcantar, Eleazar (Laura) Avila, Silvia (Santiago) Murillo, Oti (Tim) Arndt and Mari (Jesus) Cervantes. Cherished grandfather of 18. Adored great grandfather of 21 and dearest great great grandfather of 2. Dear brother of 3 and fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Jose was a retired employee of Republic (LTV) Steel. Visitation Monday 2-9pm. Funeral services Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at 10am at Elmwood Chapel, 11200 S. Ewing Avenue, Chicago.
