James H. Kling, age 80, late of Dyer, IN and Cocoa Beach, FL passed away on September 11, 2020. Beloved partner of Aleida Benitez. James is survived by his sister; Nancy (Dwayne) Hoover, cherished grandchildren; Alex, Chad, Megan and Sarah, extended family; Silvia Melby and Maria (Jim) Crews, fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. James was a veteran of the U.S. Armed Services. Retired banker for BMO Harris in Chicago, IL for 40 years. A member of Grace Lutheran Church in Dyer, IN. Jamesy will always be remembered for being a Starbuck Coffee lover. He would light up when someone brought him a grande double blended double ice coffee. He knew every Starbucks staff member and would bring them goodies from all his trips. He had a passion for cooking. From his famous peach cobbler to salami pasta salad, Jim had so many family loved recipes that could never be forgotten. Jim was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and loved reminding the family of their big win in 2016 that he was excited he got to live to experience. Jim was a huge volunteer. From being overwhelmingly active in his church community to starting a soup kitchen to delivering meals to those in need, Jim lived to help others. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic visitation and funeral services will be privately held for the family. James will be interred at Calvary Cemetery Steger, IL.
