Dominic D. Maggio, age 64. Late of Hegewisch formerly of the East Side. Passed away on August 29, 2020. Beloved husband of Mary Maggio (nee Wacnik) for 41 years. Loving father of Richard (Kaitlin) Maggio. Cherished grandfather of Zachary Maggio. Dearest brother of Debbie Maggio and Sandy (Tom) Beck. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Angelo and Elsie and Siblings: Joseph, Richard, Phyllis, Beverly, and Patricia. Dominic retired as a steel worker from Republic Steel, and a long time employee for Doreen’s Pizzeria in Hegewisch. He will always be remember for his passion for baseball and football, especially the Miami Dolphins, Alabama Roll Tide, and the Chicago White Sox. Visitation will take place on September 3, 2020 from 3-8 p.m. at the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago, IL. 60617. Per the family wishes funeral services will be held privately with interment at St. Mary Cemetery. (Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, federal, state and local guidelines will be strictly followed. Mask required, social distancing and 50 people in attendance.)
